Title – Republica
Date – June 2000
Republica are just one of many bands that have played at events where the security was supplied and managed by Peter Mayhew (Managing Director of Beyond the Blue). These photographs were taken from the pit area, which can be one of the flash points at events of this size and one of the areas we would consider, when putting a specific security plan in place.
Beyond The Blue provides Event Management services and Event Security for events of any size. By using experienced staff with great understanding of the industry, our event management team can help you to achieve your targets and make your event a complete success.

Title – Security Supervisor Briefing
Date – June 1998
Empowering our staff and those people we work with has always been at the forefront of the management style of Beyond The Blue.
When we Manage Events, be it with our staff, external contractors or in-house staff we take the same approach. We have a very structured management for those working under our direction. Through planning and briefings, we direct our managers and supervisors to take direct control of the staff in their areas. We insist that our managers familiarise themselves with the events and staff prior to the briefings they are instructed to provide briefings to the staff under their direct control and expect the highest level of professionalism.

Title – Security & paramedic briefing
Date – June 1998
Beyond The Blue can work both with the client’s in-house security team, with external contractors and with its own experienced staff. Prior to any large event a specific briefing is carried out in the days before to the event. This will consist of demonstrating systems is areas including communication procedures, fire evacuation, event specifics and close protection arrangements amongst many others. These briefings are then followed-up by a briefing on the day of the event.
Beyond The Blue work closely with a medical response company providing Paramedic Cover for large events. The relationship generated between Beyond The Blue and the paramedic supplier, means that staff and medics know each other well and co-operate efficiently during events to provide high levels of service. We can also provide First Aid Training and the majority of our staff are First Aid trained.

Title – University Ball
Date – June 1998
Events take place in many different venues and present their own challenges to the Event Management team. Size, shape, capacity, location and environment are all very important considerations in the planning process.
The hurdles that need to be overcome can vary from dealing with local residents and local authorities (as in this case) the significant hurdles presented by running events in a listed building.
As the venues present challenges that need to be overcome, they also provide opportunities to use facilities and aspects of the venue to enhance the experience of your customers. With the backdrop of a listed building the hurdles are more considerable, but the payoff is a spectacular backdrop where the exceptional architecture is combined with the opportunities presented by new technologies.
Beyond The Blue is a training and event management company. We can provide you with support in managing your specific event on all levels or in specific areas.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that your event is both successful and spectacular and that your customers leave telling all those they meet about the night they have just enjoyed.

Title – Paramedics
Date – June 1998
Paramedics play an important role both in providing emergency medical cover and offering a sense of safety and confidence to our client’s customers.
Beyond The Blue provides Paramedic Cover for events of all sizes. In general we create a well defined base for the paramedics; this may often take the form of a First Aid tent thus offering an additional service to customers.
However the very nature of their duties means that they must remain mobile throughout and on occasions we will place them in high profile positions such as in the pit, so that our clients gain from the added value that their presence provides to any event.

Title – Tequila Girl
Date – April 1995
‘Shot girls’ are one of the typical ways of increasing wet-sales in the licensed retail sector. Beyond The Blue offer much more then this in the way of ideas from its Consultancy Projects. We will examine you current business and the current market trends in order to identify areas for growth and areas of your business that are under performing and need to be reviewed further or abandoned. We will also pay particular attention to how you can operate in a responsible manner ensuring public safety while at the same time offering your customers excellent value and service levels. Too many operators simply pressure staff to increase sales at any cost without considering the consequence.
With some very specific training, your staff, be they bar staff, door supervisors or managers can work together more effectively to ensure a profitable business.
Beyond The Blue can provide training that brings to and end to the conflict within your business. The old system of bar staff tanking people up with alcohol and passing the problems on to their own door supervisors, is out-dated and redundant in modern and responsible businesses environment.

Title – Binge Drinking
Date – November 1994
Binge drinking is by some reports at epidemic levels in the United Kingdom, the phenomenon is not set to fade anytime soon and it presents particular challenges to the Security Industry, Licensed Retail Sector and Entertainment Industry.
At Beyond The Blue we tackle and challenge the problem head on, both through our In-House Security Induction training (IHSI) and Consultancy work with our clients. We understand the financial pressures that some of our clients are under to achieve sales targets as well as the pressures they are under from authorities to minimise the public nuisance that binge drinking causes. This fine balance is one that we seek to maintain and strongly believe that there is much mileage in promoting responsible drinking and the benefits that this can bring.
The reputation of a venue is often its strongest selling point and can be its weakest link. Through consultancy projects we put strong measures into place to maintain order and a level of service that will place your venue above it competitors without the need to encourage the ‘bingers’ to flock in and take advantage of price reductions which cut margins and often increase costs.
