Summer Ball – Royal Holloway University of London

Title – Summer Ball – Royal Holloway University of London
Date – June 2000

Event Management can take many forms, it can be as simple as providing management of an event for clients in the areas of security, or be more extensive and cover bars, catering, entertainments, technical co-ordination, artiste management, structure construction (such as marquees), fairground rides and local authority co-ordination.

Beyond the Blue can provide all these functions or any part of them. We can provide staff or work with in-house staff providing them with the training and guidance they require. We can also work with a mixture of Beyond The Blue Staff and in-house or contracted-in staff.

We are often contracted to effectively co-ordinate between the different areas involved in setting up such an event, as they do not always work well together.

The goal at what ever level we are involved is; that the final product is spectacular for our clients and their customers.

Royal Holloway University of London Summer Ball – Set Up

Title – Royal Holloway University of London Summer Ball – Set Up
Date – June 2000

Big events in listed buildings such as the Founders Building at Royal Holloway University of London in Surrey can take months of planning to arrange. As well as the normal health and safety considerations that any event requires, there are the additional considerations of the set-up phase as well as the event phase to satisfy authorities and to ensure that the event enhances the venues and does not adversely affect it in any way. Once the set up process begins strict measures must be enforced to maintain the integrity of the listed building through the plans set down and agreed.

Beyond The Blue has extensive experience in such preparations having worked on events such as these for a number of years. Our Consultancy service can provide you with the vital experience you require to ensure the success of your event from start to finish.

Precious

Title – Precious
Date – June 2000

Precious were at the time of this event one of the up and coming girl bands in the UK. Members of the Beyond The Blue Management team running this event had to ensure the protection of the individual members of this band who appealed to a specific demographic. Other acts at the same event appealed to a much more rock orientated demographic and as such a percentage of those attending had little interest in anything but the specific live act they had come to see.

The members of Beyond The Blue’s management running the event had to ensure that one set of fans did not upset the enjoyment of the others. As is expected all acts received rapturous welcomes and those small element intent on ruining the events for others were swiftly dealt with without disturbance and with the majority of those attending never even realising.

Our Event Security team has the experience to make your customers feel safe and to achieve this without the need for an aggressive show of force.

Dodgy presented the members of the Beyond The Blue team that managed the event at which they played a problem that can occur regularly at such events. There were several cases of young ladies wishing to get a much closer look at the artiste then it was safe to allow.

The team had to ensure the safety and integrity of the stage and back stage area with some very proactive methods. Our Event Security team and Event Managers have come across all the scenarios involved in dealing with artistes, fans and crowds and have the ability and experience to resolve any situations positively and professionally.

Republica are just one of many bands that have played at events where the security was supplied and managed by Peter Mayhew (Managing Director of Beyond the Blue). These photographs were taken from the pit area, which can be one of the flash points at events of this size and one of the areas we would consider, when putting a specific security plan in place.

Beyond The Blue provides Event Management services and Event Security for events of any size. By using experienced staff with great understanding of the industry, our event management team can help you to achieve your targets and make your event a complete success.
